Happy Norouz
Friday, March 20, 2009 12:41Today is the start of the Persian New Year. Happy Norouz to all of you who celebrate this day.
President Obama has addressed Iranian people and government in a Norouz message which you can watch here. I am impressed especially by his Happy New Year in Persian at the end of the video.

Interesting to hear about this. I think I either missed the news mentioning Obama addressing this, or the media did not circulate it widely. It’s a good sign I think.
I’ve talked about the persian calendar and the new year date with a visiting scientist from Iran last year. I didn’t remember the date, and unfortunately now I missed it. Anyway, I wish you a Happy New Year.

Yeah hopefuly this is a good sign from Obama administration. Obama’s message did not get too much coverage in Germany but was mentioned on the German radio and TV.
